i think i'm going to try this. - don't let the bastards grind you down.
i think i'm going to try this.
just to see what happens to me. i've already kinda been doing it by not eating anything during the day. i wanna see if i can take it.

it's simply eating a lot one day, and skipping the next. it's intriguing, because it provides some of the benefits of a calorie restricted diet, which i planned to start in 10-15 years...

we all know that it's possible to fast for a few days...with this, you just fast every other day. considering i'm not the most active guy in the world, i should be able to avoid starving :P

i just hope i don't forget....or succumb.

We were briefly discussing this yesterday, since a bunch of us ate almost nothing from Friday through Sunday. Jay Stewart and I each weighed about 10 pounds less at the end of the weekend. I'm not entirely clear where all that weight comes from. I drank plenty of water over the weekend, so I doubt it was mostly water weight. I thought it might be just a matter of everything being completely cleaned out of my system, but losing 10 pounds in 3 days still bothers me. I guess doing an alternating fast/feast every two days should be all right, as long as you're not fasting long enough to kick your body into starvation mode. I would think going from starving to feasting would cause you to store excess fat, which would build up over time.

that was EXACTLY my thinking! but apparently it's working in mice....i think that because it's not a long term diet thing, your body doesn't get a chance to kick into starvation mode.

i'm not sure what i'm going to use as a method of success. i'm first going to see if i lose any weight, because i won't be eating twice as much, just more than normal.

as long as i don't gain weight, i'll consider the experiment a success.

btw, the days set aside for fasting suck. i was able to start right away, being as how i didn't eat breakfast, and i'm hungry :P
