"Humans learn from their mistakes, really clever ones learn from… - don't let the bastards grind you down.
"Humans learn from their mistakes, really clever ones learn from other peoples."

TOO TRUE. it seems that modern society wants people to live the first 30 years of their live with very few rules, doing all the stupid shit possible, and chalk it up to "learning". there's even a new everclear song that talks about that..."volvo driving soccer mom"..the song is..feh...but the lyrics are gold.

"i had a threesome with my sister and her boyfriend tom.
but now i'm a volvo driving soccer mom"

personal responsibilty will NEVER catch on until this thinking evaporates. people need to learn from OTHERS, there's simply not enough time in a person's life to make every mistake...

And here I thought that I'd never have a normal future after all the threesomes I've had with my sis and her boy. Whew! Thank God for Everclear...they've given me hope.

Personal responsibility is systematically being removed from society.

You smoked too much and now you have cancer? Well, it's not your fault for deciding to smoke them, its the cigarettes company for making them and offering them to you.

Your children are out of control maniacs? Well, thats not because you didn't bother to raise them, it's because of violence on television and video games.

You are a huge fatass with medical problems from eating fucking fastfood your whole life? Hey, that's the fast food industry's fault for not putting enough warning labels on their goddamn double-quarter pounder with cheese.

The extra fun part is that the whittling away of personal responsibility is directly linked to the loss of personal freedom.
