interactions with my (eldest) daughter
me: spell cup
evie: see-you-pea
me: ok. spell I-CUP.
evie: like eye? (pointing to her own eye).
me: no. like "I" (pointing to myself).
evie: i-see-you-pee. *makes disgusted face at her father* no i don't.
me: *pumps fists in the air* YES!

evie: i want the blanket! i'm cold! cover me up!
me: cover yourself up. *plops blanket on her*
evie: *does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING*
me: *grumble*, come on! cover yourself up! don't just sit there!
evie: daddy, don't get frustrated. i just don't cover myself up as good as you. it's too heavy when i do it but you do it nice and smooth.
me: oh, um. ok. well. ok. lay down. *covers up the kid, and tucks her in on the couch by the fireplace, where she falls asleep while watching harry and the hendersons*

It's true, though. Parent blanket tuck-ins are so much better than doing it yourself.
