the curse of dick cheney

or, how he and rummy have caused the downfall of the past couple of republican presidents they were on staff with (and not reagan, cause he was smart enough to not hire them) so that they can advance their careers.

Off topic - but if you are posting you must be somewhere that has elctricity. How did your area fair through the storm?

My sister lives in Palm Springs; she's without water, gas, electricity and has no idea when she'll be able to go to work.

Just wondering how you made out.

check this out:

here's where i live.

the little star is my place. you can zoom all the way in, and where they put the star is exactly my place. i live "downtown". :)

so, you'll notice to the right is port charlotte and punta gorda. if you've been watching the news, those are the two towns that were COMPLETELY FUCKING LEVELED by charley.

work was out for a week, and only kinda working the next week. my dentist was destroyed, and so were many other places. charley was a mess. luckily, my place, for some incomprehensible reason, wasn't touched.

same for frances. port charlotte and punta gorda just finished getting power last week, and frances flooded out a lot of people and messed up some tarps and exacerbated pre-existing damage, but did nothing otherwise.

so yeah, i'm fine, and my stuff is fine. i live in some bizarro world that hurricanes can't reach. also, i'm worried about hurricane ivan, to be honest. third time's a charm and all that. i hope your sister gets her power back soon! shouldn't be too long.

Well, I'm glad that you have been so lucky. Hopefully Ivan gives Florida a break because the past few weeks have just been brutal on you guys.

My sister anticipates power by Thursday at the latest, but there's no word on the gas situation and until there is some she can't go to work. But then again, there's no power at her work either so what's the point.
